Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis is a disease in which bones become fragile and weak and can easily break.
Many women and men especially postmenopausal women and men with hypogonadism are at risk of developing osteoporosis. There are also hormonal conditions that can lead to osteoporosis such as hyperprathyroidism, hyperthyroidism, diabetes etc. Too much bone loss (osteoporosis) can lead to fractures, which can cause serious health risks, including disability and premature death.
Our expert physicians and nurses identify risk factors, educate our patients about osteoporosis and offer appropriate therapy. In our office we perform bone mineral density testing (BMD) which can help determine the risk of fracture.
